Philips utilized a polyester-based polyurethane (PE-PUR) sound abatement foam in certain CPAP and BiPAP (Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure) machines. The primary function of this foam was to reduce the operating noise of the devices, ensuring a quieter environment conducive to sleep for the user.
